On 17 Mar Animal Rescue Of Anton received a call about a pregnant canine in Coronado. She is about to give birth but was abandoned a few days ago. Some nice people gave her food but a lot shooed her away so she had to conceal herself in a field next to the highway and breathe heavily, her puppies and herself were in risk.
Luckily a nice lady saw her and summoned Animal Rescue Of Anton for assistance. When the rescue team arrived and approached her, she fled away. She couldn’t run that rapidly but they didn’t want to panic her.
They followed her gently, she grew fatigued and lay down. then they tried to entice her in the cage with food. Luckily it worked, so they swiftly held the cage and tried to calm her down. She seemed OK and didn’t really panic in the cage.
The physician said she was just a few days from giving birth. Luckily Ultrasound reveals her fetuses are all healthy, there are at least 10 of them on their way to life. They are a tad smaller than normal but should be OK.
Her hip is a little deviated & she acquired a severe parasite infection. First, they have to remove all parasites they can see, then give her a medicine wash to avoid getting contaminated again. She behaved well and wasn’t aggressive at all.
Everything was ready, she was a bit apprehensive that night. She gave birth to 11 puppies, all of them made it, and they are so adorable.
Their babies were born on March 22nd and we couldn’t be more in love they’re 6 males and 5 females.
